Let us gingerly place a timid foot e’er closer
My first official stint as a real live acting Rennie approaches, and I’m sick. I was out doing site work last Saturday, and fell sick. In truth, I was already coming down with something, but then I didn’t hydrate properly. Bot now, just a few days out, I’m getting excited and watching Brave to prepare for me accent. As I think about the month that approaches, I realizes it will pass quickly.

Inspiration Engine 11 – PhD, Stories and Maps
This is a weekly post I do to highlight blogs or bloggers who have inspired me in some way during this week – another car on my imagination train!
As you may or may not know, to make the most of my interest in relationships,to stimulate the research corners of my brain and to give legitimacy to my findings, I have been trying to get into a PhD program for the past two years. I have been turned down from 18 programs in total, both in social work and in social psychology, and I’m bummed.

The Forest is my Imagination
Sometimes, at the beginning of a week, I find that my attention and thoughts are focused in a beautiful place, like a forest of trees. Living in that forest is normal, and possibilities are paths through them.
In this forest, you don’t have to walk the paths, and if you choose to, you don’t do it for any purpose. You do it because you want to walk the path. The passage and exploration are more important than the journey’s end.
And, oh, how I hate pulling myself out of this forest.

In preparation for the upcoming St. Louis Ren Fair and my stint as Avis McGregor, I’m borrowing my mother’s sewing machine to make my garb. I brought it home and started looking at the piles of cloth I have that are waiting to be hand stitched into something, and suddenly I’ve become like that guy in the meme, but only with:
