Day 26 – Z
Somewhere along this month, I messed up the days, so I’m pushing out two at once today, the last two, and this time, reflecting on zoos I’ve visited.

Day 26 – Z
Somewhere along this month, I messed up the days, so I’m pushing out two at once today, the last two, and this time, reflecting on zoos I’ve visited.
Day 25 – X
X-rays you’ve had
A crap-ton! And those are just the ones I remember! I don’t know how many I had while I was in the coma, but it’s safe to assume it was quite a few – most of my ribs were broken in the accident, both my hips, my femur had gone through my pelvis, my shoulder…
Day 24 – W
Since today is W, I’m going to talk about a Wee One. Specifically, her speech.
I had a feeling it wasn’t quite progressing as it should be, and today, after a speech evaluation, I find I am right. I’m a little heart sore about it.
Day 23 – V
Vacation Destination
You guys!! I think we’re going to Disney World at the end of the month! For those of you who don’t know, after a far away trip when I was five, I didn’t start going to Disney World until I was with my now-husband Cohiba, who took me on a getaway weekend during a particularly year of grad school in 2011. (It was this weekend, according to Facebook memories – six years.)
Day 22 – U
Unusual
I am starting to think of something unusual, at least for me: homeschooling. While I was still in Seattle, a girlfriend and I thought we would work together with our two girls, who were already sort of besties and super cute together.
Day 21 – T
Time you woke up.
6:59 AM. Thanks Wee One. Every now and then I am so lucky and she sleeps until eight-ish, but that is rare. I have even moved her bedtime in hopes that she’ll sleep in longer – no joy.
Day 18 – R
Reason to smile
You mean besides Wee One? And besides thinking about an inappropriate joke?
I’m often smiling because I am devising ways to bolster my moral superiority, which Cohiba hates.
I smiled because I’m working on a book of short stories by Truman Capote, and they’re awesome. I never really read him before, but it’s clear I need to fix that. Continue reading “Smiley Days”
Day 17 – Q
Question you’re always asked?
“Where are you from?” Is what I get a lot these days. Since I’m living at Casa In-Laws and looking for a place: it’s clear I’m a new girl in town.
What about you? Do people always ask about your eyes? Your hair color? Your life’s ambition? Your high school locker combination?

Day 16 – P
Person you last called?
My mom! She’s been feeling poorly since Christmas, basically, but it doing better these days. She sounds SO much better and it was so nice to talk to her. Hmmm, mom. ❤
Day 15 – O
One Wish
Obviously, I want world peace, just like any beauty queen would (smirk), and I won’t wish for more wishes like the Genie warned not to do in Aladdin.
Of course, as Wee One’s mother, my greatest wish is for her safety and joy. Let’s just take that as a given.
My greatest wish is to have my own transport to go wherever I want, and to have time to spend it there. Vietnam. Some of those states I was talking about yesterday. Spain.
What about you? What would you wish for?
