Black and White Photographs

What is it about a black and white photo that is so beautiful?

It looks classic and timeless, probably because photos of old are in black and white.

Given that there are so many cool filters available these days, I rarely use a black and white one. Yet when I do, the moment is stilled and even a little poignant.

For this exercise, I think I am going to compare a few of this week’s photos side by side; the awesome color filter and the back and white.

Which do you prefer for your pictures: color pictures or black and white?

This is inspired by Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge.

  1. B&W, I never would have thought how b&w can make a person think differently regarding pictures of people, but it did. I think you are right, because those old b&w’s of the past make us feel something in our hearts for family from our past.

    1. Well, thank you! Do you take many black and white photos? Or apply the filter? I think I’m going to start doing it after this post. And thank you for stopping by!

      1. I have never shot in black and white but will be playing with it from now on. I have the feature on my camera. That’s why I love doing the challenges, I am doing things I never would have before. ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. Oh yeah! Most of my pics are from my iPhone, so I don’t think o have the option to just take B&W photos (though I wonder how different they would be if I could?!) but I take advantage of filters. I hope you share some of your stuff!

Okay, your turn.
