Crisis of Faith – What’s my Name?

I am working on my blog, on my brand, (thanks to the zerotohero challenge, of course) and I have come to a very important conclusion: I think my blog needs a different name.

So far, I’ve called it “I didn’t just wake up this morning with a craving” because it made me think of a really funny line from the 9th Doctor.

But it doesn’t really “say anything,” does it?  It’s unusual, to be sure, and that’s good. It’s also long, and that’s bad. It also doesn’t really mean anything to this blog, and that’s bad, I think.

Why do I even blog in the first place?

A year ago, I thought a blog would be a fun time pass while I’m in a stressful stage of life. Over time, as I’ve enjoyed writing, enjoyed reading (something I always did), and have thought about my next professional steps, I have wondered about incorporating writing into it. I have started a novel and had a few other ideas as well.

So now, I would like to be a better blogger to develop my writing self and my writing presence.  If this blog exceeded my dreams, it would be followed (duh) and it would elicit conversation – people would comment on it, it would challenge them. I enjoy a respectful debate, particularly for how it challenges and generates new ideas.

This blog also provides a trough, if you will, for inspiration, for stimulus.  I believe a lot of energy is generated in creativity, and I hope to foster it in more parts of my life.

It is part of this exercise to post goals for ourselves to help build this blog, and I read one yesterday that I thought was awesome – I’m going to copy it.

* Spend one hour each week visiting my followers’ blogs, reading their posts, and commenting on their work, from now until June 30th.

*Also, I will post several times a week at minimum.

I would like to connect with other people. People, not companies or advertising agents. I think my topics will include a bit of fiction and alliteration exercises, responses to the Daily Prompts and other writing challenges, being a Rennie/social worker/homeless advocate/feminist/God follower, and the adventure of life, ‘cause some crazy stuff happens!
