This past spring I went back to Missouri for the first time in a year. A whole year! As I was walking around, I kept thinking, “Jeez, why don’t I come here more?”
I showed Wee One the St. Louis Arch for the first time. She said she wanted to go in it, which we can do, but I don’t want to take her on that egg-shaped elevator yet. She’s still not too good with elevators and that’s a long ass ride.
I took her to the Science Center, which is free. And used their parking lot. Which is free. (There’s an okay science museum in Columbus, but you have to pay to park and pay to get in and pay and pay and I’m over it.
Later that week we went to the history museum. Free. And parked. For free. We did have to pay a dollar or two to get into the children’s area, which I didn’t even realize they had, but it was cute and there was story time and, seriously, a dollar or two.
Since we were in the neighborhood, though, I went to that coffee shop I had been denied the day I had WO, and we took a picture together. ❤
So much for good intentions – I popped in to visit my folks for a quick weekend, but I don’t think I’ll be back out until next spring.
That’s awesome that those places are free! It’s crazy how much some places charge.
I hope you had a nice visit. 🙂
That is one of the best kept secrets of St. Louis – all of the big museums are free, as is the parking! It felt weird the first time I lived somewhere else and realized that wasn’t true everywhere.
Next time I get down that way, I hope to check it out! 🙂
