I love statistics. I actually love all math, when I can understand it. I love (and hate) how rigid it is. All the guess work is taken out: if I put certain numbers in x, y, and z, I will get the same result every. time. Not like when working with people. Ugh. People suck.
Top 10 Favorite Memes

I am working on a post I’m going to put out later this week, and, for part of it, I’m talking about cool memes. Which made me wonder: which ones are my own personal favorites???
Now first, a question about memes: How the hell do you pronounce it? I used to pronounce it memay,” sort of a French pronunciation, but my friend Walter insists its “meem.” Anyone know?
Some of these, I created myself, but I think it counts, don’t you?
Weekend Coffee Share #14

If we were having coffee, a very large group beats us to the counter to order. We try to decide if they’re family, because they’re of varying ages, or a social group, because they’re all in athletic gear (football, to be exact) and carrying a ball with them. Perhaps both? you guess. This is Super Bowl Sunday, I say, and you shake your head. I think I hear you grumble something about ‘thank God that’ll be over,’ referring to football season, but I smile because I know you’re teasing.
I have been thinking all week about ‘happiness’ since we talked about it, and I thought of something else I do to promote happiness in myself – when the automatic negative thoughts begin to run the train track around my head, I deliberately point out to myself the blessings I have, which is easy to do when I have a child as wonderful as my Wee One.
Be Happy
First of all, today is my birthday. 🙂 This year has been fantastic, mostly because – no, entirely because – the Wee One was in it. This time last year I was gargantuan and having trouble breathing on my waddle to the bathroom. Today, as I was crawling on the floor putting a new duvet cover on, my little girl was literally screaming with laughter. Screaming. She made me jump a few times, actually, it was such a surprise.
New Story Idea
Things are really exciting at Creo Somnium right now because I had a new story idea, and I’m also working on it in a different way than I have in the past. I’m doing more planning than I used to do, when I would just sit down and write and end of with a splintered story.
The theme or moral of the story is to trust your instincts – your brain and intuition.
Weekend Coffee Share #13

If we were having coffee, we would comment on how quiet it seems in here today – why is that? There aren’t a lot of people – is the church crowd still in church? we wonder. I’m having trouble remembering what I did this week. Does that happen to you? Is it because I don’t have the flow of energy of people around us?
Don’t Quote Me. Wait…
I used to have a recipe box of index cards filled with quotes I liked. I’m having tremembering them now, but there are a couple I can think of.
Blogging Boon, or Noob.
My advice for new bloggers: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery – in moderation. Don’t copy their text without credit, obvs, but if you like how someone’s layout looks, use it! In fact, look at a bunch of blogs to see what kind of style looks good to you, and copy it!
“Le Cœur A Ses Raisons, Que La Raison Ne Connaît Point.”
“The heart has its reasons, which reason does not know.”
This passage by Blaise Pascal came to my mind the other day as I was listening to a podcast on toddler tantrums. The Wee One isn’t a toddler yet, and is only starting to voice her displeasure when she doesn’t get something she wants. I’m still able to distract her and she moves along quite easily.

Top 10 Best Posts of Creo Somnium

These are the ten bests posts I like on this blog, though not necessarily the ones looked at most often. They are in no particular order.

Last Words to my Dying Grandma
It just so happens that this post IS the one most looked at. I look at Google search terms, and find that people google things about “death” “dying family member,” or “dying grandmother.” But it made this list because I wrote it immediately after it happened, and I can remember it so clearly when I read it. That’s actually a common theme of the posts I chose: they all call back memories so clearly or in such a unique way that I love them.
