This prompt suggests we say something we love about ourselves, that we too our own horn.
So here I go.
Yesterday’s prompt asked us to think about having a talk with someone I don’t know very well about their life and their background, and it reminded me of something my department encouraged a few years ago. but first, some backstory:
I believe my letter would go along these lines:
Well met, 10-years-ago-me!
How good it is to see you looking so well! I know, you don’t feel like you’re well, but you’ll get on track. It’ll be okay. I just wanted to tell you of a few things that may help over the next decade.
This is in response to an old prompt about whether I prefer my voice on tape or face on vidoe, but it brought up good memories that I like to flip through. In college, my freshman year, I was best friends with two girls, Ann and Ali. Ali’s roommate moved out of her dorm room for some reason I don’t remember, and one night, inspired by Fiegling from a Romanian friend and cheap wine from a fake ID, she let us take magic marker to her walls to decorate.
His booted feet covered the dew-covered grass of the empty field until he reached the well-worn wooden bridge. The creek below was slightly swollen and the thick air around him hung low, promising to entrap anything in its grasp. The smell of mud was strong around him, but the white gravel on the main road protected him from sinking too deep into it.
He continued off the main pebble-covered path to another bridge, this one covered by vines from nearby trees and adorned with plaid red and blue ribbons and bells. Here in the glen the trees were thicker, but so was the mud.
This is a weekly post I do to highlight blogs or bloggers who have inspired me in some way during this week – another car on my imagination train!
This week’s inspiration focuses mainly on prompts, suggestions of things to write about and do. The first I have already explained, the post that inspired the 36/36 challenge by Lady Kell of Kincavel. I’ve already determined my own things to do this year (wrote about here) and I look forward to getting to them! Wanna join me? It’s easy – make your own list and then tell me in your comments so I can cheer you on and get inspired by you!
