And while I used to hate this month, it has become more fun over the past few years as I discovered NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month and its jumpier cousin, NaBloPoMo – National Blog Post Month. For the month of November, people around the world will be scribbling furiously on their note pads and laptops, finally given the push they need to write their novel or incentive to get more active in the blogosphere.
I did NaNo one year and got about 1/4 of the way through a novel and for the past several years, I have done NaBloPo. It seems like writers are more outgoing during this month, when posts are flying around and people are commenting and joking about them. More jokes, more stories, more ideas that make you go, “Maybe…” November has become a surprising month of fun.
Are you doing either of these? Let me know in the comments.
Yes indeed, as you correctly mentioned, writers are more active and eager to post and get the added exposure available during this month. I’m inspired by the incentive of the NaBloPoMo challenge and I post daily, and read, like and comment on others’ posts. Through these activities I’m having great experience, lots of fun, and I’m going to have lasting memories from which to benefit as a writer. This year is my first in the Nano Poblano challenge, and I’m already planning for next year’s challenge and the experience and fun that go with it.
Thanks for stopping by! So it’s your first year with Nano Poblano, but have you don’e NaBloPoMO before? Did you ever do NaNo?
No, never
