Monday night. Because even when you wake up:

I Didn't Just Wake Up This Morning With A Craving
I Write To Understand. I Write To Stop Time
Monday night. Because even when you wake up:

Living at Casa In-Laws means the TV is on a lot, which wouldn’t be my preference, but we go with it. They like to watch Hallmark seasonal movies and I can’t even be mad. They’re formulaic movies, but its a formula that works, and I don’t mind it playing in front if Wee One.
But they are obviously ‘Christmas Movies,’ and today I want to talk about Christmas movies that aren’t really Christmas movies. They are the ones I (and others) associate with Christmas.

If we were having coffee, we wouldn’t really be having coffee. We would be out to dinner after a busy family weekend. We are at *undisclosed* restaurant, and I’m having this cucumber cocktail that is so so so fucking good; it takes me back to St. Maarten. Sipping coffee in my Thanksgiving-ready in-laws while WO naps.
She fell this morning, hard. I wasn’t as aggressive about the way she was climbing as I could have been, and I feel so bad. I sat down and nursed her; she got so much comfort from it and fell right to sleep. It was precious.
A friend of mine is studying to become a vicar at Oxford, and he said the school put on a traditional Thanksgiving meal in honor of their American students. He said, “trying to explain marshmallows On potatoes…”
My mom is coming out today, and I’m excited to see her.
Happy Day of Thanks, everyone.

I called my senators today.
I called them about a few acts that are coming before Congress, and a part of the president-elect’s cabinet I think is bad for our nation. It’s the first time I ever called an elected official, and I feel pretty good about it.
Shortly before Wee One was born, I learned something about my family, about a great great grandfather I didn’t know I had. I don’t know a lot about my family history, so this was cool to learn.

If we were having coffee, we would take our time, because it is nice to be out. It has been a long wee and I have missed you. I wish I could see you more.
When I was in junior high, a Guns n’ Roses song came out that had strings in it, so it was high brow rock n’ roll. November Rain.
