A time for special holidays (for many people) also call for a special Share Your World!
What really cool about this one is that people can post about any holiday they like, which means we might not be reading about Christian traditions that I know about, but others that I don’t; how cool is that? Check out the original page to see what other people wrote.
What is your favorite holiday?
I think for me, I’m going to pick Christmas. I actually don’t really like holidays, if I’m honest, because they’re so anticlimactic, but Christmas is pretty good.
What types of food is associated with your holiday?
Chocolate. Sweet breads. Rich oily meats. Crisp veggies.
Do you travel for your holiday?
I used to, but living in Ohio and having Wee One, I think I’ll do it less. We have family right here, and my parents are willing to come here ’cause they know how hard a 7+ hour trip with a toddler is.
Is it a religious or spiritual holiday?
Yes, and it’s important to me to keep the spiritual element in it.
Is there a gift exchange?
Oh yes. My mother and I have made it this huge thing: there are specific gifts you open in a specific order, and there are stories that go along with it. It makes it all so much more meaningful.
How long does the celebration last?
Several days, though sometimes it feels like longer given the lead-up and wind down time.
Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I am grateful to finding a cool yoga class! I liked the studio and feel good after the class, and I’ll be going back!
In the upcoming week, I am looking forward to seeing family and loving Wee One as she experiences so many new things.
Happy Holidays. Thanks so much for sharing this week. 😀
Happy Holidays from Finland! Yay for the cool yoga class. I have to start looking for something like that for next year.
You too! Thanks for popping by, and good luck on the search!
