After long last, I am doing the third day of the quote challenge given to me by Jess over at Daring to Jess
I used to really believe that children are a distraction from more important things. Parents have to give so many things up. After all, since women have to leave work to raise children, or are more likely to, they don’t do as well in a job.
How wrong I was. And how lucky I am that God gave me a child to learn that.
What I didn’t anticipate was that, after a child, my idea of important things would change so profoundly.
I can imagine nothing more important than being with her and putting her needs first, helping her learn her worth, teach her how important she is.
I was going to save this quote for when I get pregnant to announce it to everyone (and I still probably will), but for the life of me, I just cannot think of a quote for the three day challenge that I love more than this one right now.
So, to round off this challenge, I am not going to nominate anyone specific, but ask you: what quotes are profound or meaningful to you right now?
I’ve often thought that I probably don’t want children in the future because I have so much I want to do and so much to be… but this quote has totally changed my view of children! Thank you for sharing, I will definitely reconsider my view of kids 😉
Agree with that completely! Sometimes I get comments about giving up a career for kids, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
