Not The Best First Date

Doctor Who – Series 1 – The End of the World. Written by Russell T. Davies

The first episode of Doctor Who wasn’t bad, so I kept watching the second. The episode opens up with the Doctor asking Rose “I’ll have another” Tyler where she’d like to go.  Then a flirtatious back and forth ensues during which she throws out years and he brags about where he’s taken her. Finally, she twinkles at him, “You think you’re so impressive.”  He says, with mocking indignance “I am so impressive. Alright, you asked for it.” and he spin spin spins the TARDIS knobs. When she lands, Rose and the Doctor spill out onto a bland platform and he opens a screen so we can all see the earth before us. He tells us it’s 3.3/apple/26. 5 billion years from 2005, and this is the day the sun expands. “Welcome to the end of the world.” He finishes credits begin.  Dude, that is sooo not how you flirt with a girl.

What Do You Mean The Doctor? Doctor Who?

For the past few months, one of my most visited posts is about what I consider to be the Top 10 Doctor Who monologues.. There must be a lot of Whovians out there! On a blog I used to  mostly keep for myself, I included recaps of Doctor Who episodes. I have officially shut that blog down and will share the recaps here.

If we were having coffee, we wold have a lot to talk about. So much has begun this week. Now that Lanir Day has passed in the US and schools are fully back in session, all those children’s programs that run during the school year have resumed. So once again, it feels like the year revolves around two days: Memorial Day and Labor Day. But how things change.

Weekend Coffee Share #45

If we were having coffee, I would be so glad to be meeting with you than what I was doing last week. This has been a rough week for my family. Going to St. Louis was hard because I had a headache for two days because I hadn’t gotten enough sleep. It sucked. Then, we’re having some medical problems at Casa In-Laws, so the in-laws are gone more, leaving me, Cohiba, and Wee One. (So please send positive thoughts to in-laws.)

Road Trip Landmarks

I drove back from St. Louis to C-bus yesterday, ending a long weekend with Wee One and my folks, and a cousin’s bridal shower. Since the beginning of this year, I have made this drive every other month or so, usually alone with WO. It’s six hours, but always becomes longer when we stop to run around and/or get food.

On the drive, there are several “landmarks” I look for on the way that sort of signal to me where I am, and I’m sharing them with you today.
