Day 5 – E – Bonus post
I don’t know what I didn’t think of doing this sooner, possibly because I usually call her Wee One, but she’s got an E name, and would make a good E word!

Day 5 – E – Bonus post
I don’t know what I didn’t think of doing this sooner, possibly because I usually call her Wee One, but she’s got an E name, and would make a good E word!
Day 5 – E
Every day starts with: hearing Wee One cry and fuss over the baby monitor, and getting up to respond to it.
On my way, depending on how bad she’s crying, I might stop by the restroom. Then there are mornings like this one, where I hear her get up, but then she talks to her animals and doesn’t cry. I let her play alone and I check my Facebook.
This is day 5 of the A to Z Challenge for April. If you are doing it, comment below and let me know what your post for today is! If you want to get regular updates about what’s happening at Didn’t Just Wake Up, click the follow button on the right hand side! No matter what, thanks for reading!
I think it’s starting. The thing I’ve heard about. The “She just woke up one day and was totally different” thing. (And by different, mothers mean their child has attitude, sass, opinions.)

You know how, as a kid, when you go to your friends’ house, their toys are cooler than yours? Does that happen when you are an adult to?
That is, all the toys I see that Wee One does not have, I think are cooler, and I think I need to buy for her.

If we were having coffee, we would be here for a long time since its been awhile since we met! We had birthday parties, both in Ohio and in St. Louis. (Oh yeah, Wee One is two. What did you do that she has to be two? 🙂
This winter, since I had some time to get “settled,” and I am in Ohio and its cold, I found Wee One some classes and activities. Not too many, because I don’t think its right for her, but some. We really liked The Little Gym in Seattle, but it’s really far from where I live, and I found a tumbling tot class nearby (and much cheaper!)
WO loves going, watching the other kids, climbing on things, and the trampoline. She is working so hard to jump these days and loves the trampoline, especially when I get on with her, hold her hands, and jump with her. To be honest, I like it, too, until I get off and then I feel it: my head injury.
After long last, I am doing the third day of the quote challenge given to me by Jess over at Daring to Jess

I used to really believe that children are a distraction from more important things. Parents have to give so many things up. After all, since women have to leave work to raise children, or are more likely to, they don’t do as well in a job.
Laying with my daughter, like I did last night. These holidays are tough on a little girl, and since we’re at family’s houses, we put her to sleep on a bed, then stay with her.
The magic continued for her today, the magic of a good life. She rode in a tricycle, learned how to twirl her skirt (or rather, saw mommy do it) and dug in the dirt outside on the farm, then played with her baby cousin.
It’s a privilege to be her mommy, my treasure.
What magic did you have today?
Shortly before Wee One was born, I learned something about my family, about a great great grandfather I didn’t know I had. I don’t know a lot about my family history, so this was cool to learn.

Of course I am referring to my belly button.

Or perhaps I’ll call it a finger pocket, as that is what Wee One has taken to using it for.
