I Write To Understand. I Write To Stop Time
I heard some music today that really took me back. The soundtrack to Cruel Intentions.
My ex-fiancé, (from ever so long ago) had shown me the movie, and so it was around the time that I left him that I was listening to the soundtrack a lot. It was a hard break-up, so I was feeling a new freedom.
I’m sad to report that I’m currently recovering from a surprise hospital visit. I am light one gall bladder and hopefully will be able to eat dairy again. I’m happy to say goodbye to the 12 or so pounds I lost over the last two months, but overall, this was a really negative experience and I shan’t be trying it again.
People of my high school graduating class, particularly theater nerds like me and especially my friends, remember well the 1996 musical Rent.
I was recently back in St. Louis (Wee One and I did a few weekends of fair in mid-Missouri) and one afternoon, we went out with my (step) grandmother. This meant driving around a part of town I was in a lot as a kid, and a bit in high school, so of course it sparked nostalgia. But none so much as the mall: Crestwood mall.
I have been lax on these goals, some of them. But, in my mind, the year is still young, and these things can still be done. Most of them. >wink<

I know a lot of people love this episode, but I don’t think it’s all that. I think it’s disjointed and has some good parts and good characters, but the mash-up is both trite and awkward, and I don’t love this episode. I usually skip to my favorite parts.
I know I’ve mentioned here before, that Wee One has a speech delay. She’s making progress her her speech therapist and next fall, we’re getting her into a preschool with an SLP on staff. (Oh yeah, I told you about the testing last month: she got in.) She’ll be fine.
But right now, today… man.
I know I wrote the other day about having a challenging time with Wee One (challenging with a toddler? Who would have guessed?) but today is a new day and things really are grand.
Today was a tough day. I know I say I write to stop time, but this may not be the time I want to stop.
